Brian Baise and Jennifer Weiss, Harvard’s head coaches for men’s and women’s volleyball, announced the hiring of Nick Clark as an assistant coach for both programs in July 2021. Following the 2022-23 campaign, Clark transitioned to the women's program.

In two seasons with the women's team, Clark has helped four Crimson players earn All-Ivy League honors. On the men's side, meanwhile, Clark mentored an All-American and six All-EIVA selections.
 
Clark arrived in Cambridge after serving as a volunteer assistant coach for the women’s volleyball program at UC Santa Barbara from 2019-21. While with the Gauchos, Clark assisted in offensive strategies and game planning with a primary focus on training setters, outside hitters and liberos.
 
Prior to his time with UCSB, Clark served as the men’s volleyball head coach at Clarke University from 2015-19. Clark compiled an overall record of 62-51 and a 22-16 conference mark over his four years with the Pride. Leading the Pride to a top-three conference finish in each of his seasons at the helm, Clark’s teams ranked among the top 12 nationally during his tenure.
 
A native of Carleton, Mich., Clark made previous coaching stints with Division I and II programs. Clark previously served as the assistant women’s volleyball coach at the University of West Alabama from 2013-15. Prior to his stint at West Alabama, Clark spent two seasons as an assistant men's volleyball coach at Pfeiffer University. Clark spent one season as the Falcon's assistant women's volleyball coach.
 
Clark received a bachelor of arts degree in secondary education and social studies from Eastern Michigan in 2010. While at Eastern Michigan, Clark founded and served as coach, player and president of the men's volleyball club program.
