Since 1979 the Gordon Indoor Track has hosted high school,
collegiate and open meets for a countless number of athletes. State
champions, national champions and Olympic medalists have all
competed in the venue that is one of the best facilities in the
nation. So it's no surprise that two-time Olympic medalist
Bryan Clay has selected the Harvard Multi Meet as one his meets
this indoor season.
Clay, the reigning Olympic gold medalist in the decathlon will
compete in the heptathlon Friday and Saturday at the Harvard Multi
Meet. Clay picked up his first gold medal in Beijing after taking
home the silver in Athens in 2004. He is the 2005 and 2008 World
Indoor champion, a three-time USA Outdoor champion and two-time
World Indoor Silver Medalist.
The heptathlon is a two-day event. On Friday, Clay and his
competitors will compete in the 60-meter dash, the long jump, shot
put and high jump. On Saturday, the athletes will take part in the
60-meter hurdles, 1,000 meter run and the pole vault.
