Harvard head coach Lisa Miller announced Friday the addition of
Jennifer Russell to the women's lacrosse staff in 2011.
Russell, a finalist for the Tewaaraton Trophy and the Honda Award
both of which are given to the national player of the year, will
serve as a volunteer assistant for the Crimson.
Russell, a current member of the U.S National team, graduated
from North Carolina this past spring. She earned first-team
All-America honors for the second consecutive season in the
midfield. She also was an All-ACC choice in each of the last two
years, leading UNC to the NCAA Tournament semifinals in 2009 and
2010. Russell started all 20 Carolina games in 2010, finishing with
32 goals and nine assists for 41 points along with 33 ground balls,
24 draw controls and a team-high 22 caused turnovers.
Russell is from Andover, Mass., and attended the Brooks School
where she was a two-time first-team All-America and four-year
starter.
