NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- In the final match of the
regular season, the fifth-ranked Harvard men's squash team fell at
archrival Yale, losing to the second-ranked Bulldogs by a score of
8-1 Saturday. The Crimson finishes the regular season with a
5-4 overall record and 4-2 mark in Ivy League matches, while the
Bulldogs improve to 12-1 and 6-0 in the Ancient Eight.
At the No. 1 slot, Colin West, who completed the regular season
with an 8-1 record, defeated Kenneth Chan, 3-1, to earn Harvard's
lone victory of the match. At the No. 2 position, Richard
Hill fell to Yale's Todd Ruth, 3-1, while Zeke Scherl dropped his
match at the No. 3 spot to Aaron Fuchs, 3-2, in the closest match
of the day.
At the No. 6 position, Eliot Buchanan picked up one game before
eventually losing to Naishadh Lalwani, 3-1.
Harvard will now ready for the upcoming College Squash Association
National Team Championships, which will be held at Yale Feb.
19-21. The Crimson placed fourth at least year's team
championships.
