Freshman Jennifer VanderMeulen of the Harvard women's
lacrosse team was named the Co-Offensive Player of the Week as
announced by the conference office Monday evening. This is
VanderMeulen's second player of the week nod, just five weeks
into the season.
VanderMeulen led the Crimson with 10 goals and two assists in
two games last week. She had a career-high six goals and two
assists for a career-best eight points in a 19-4 win over Bryant as
well as four goals against Brown. She had a draw control and a
caused turnover against the Bears, while she had a ground ball, a
draw control and two caused turnovers versus the Bulldogs.
She leads the Crimson and Ivy League in scoring with 29 goals or
3.62 tallies per game. She has a team-best 33 points, which ranks
second in the Ancient Eight.
VanderMeulen garnered Co-Offensive Player of the Week March 15.
She was named to the Women'sLacrosse.com honor roll March 4
as well.
Harvard travels to Yale and Virginia this weekend for two
contests on the road.
