CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Sophomore defender Lindsey
Kowal of the Harvard women's soccer team has been invited to the
U.S. National Women's Under-21 camp, which will be held in Florida
this spring.
Kowal, a native of East Meadow, N.Y., was honored on the All-Ivy
League second team last season. Kowal, who started all 15
games she appeared in, helped the Crimson win its second straight
Ancient Eight title and advance to the NCAA postseason for the
second time in as many years. Harvard completed the season 9-7-1
overall and 6-1 in Ivy play.
Kowal, who assisted on the game-winning goal at Cornell Oct. 10,
was a key figure of the Harvard defense, which surrendered only
seven goals in seven Ivy League games. An All-Ivy League
honorable mention choice in 2008, Kowal has prior U.S. national
team experience, having attended an Under-23 camp in June 2009.
