Harvard Ranked 10th in Preseason NSCAA Poll
Harvard's Freshman Class Ranked 21st by College Soccer

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The 10th-ranked Crimson,
led by Carl Junot, the Virginia B. and James O. Welch '52 Head
Coach for Harvard Men's Soccer, opens the upcoming 2010 season at
home against Stanford Sept. 4.
Harvard, ranked 10th in the National Soccer Coaches Association of
America (NSCAA preseason poll), returns 18 players from last year's
team which went 14-4-1 overall and 5-1-1 in the Ivy League, en
route to the program's 13th Ancient Eight title. The Crimson
reached the third round of the NCAA tournament and was ranked as
high as No. 6 in the nation during last fall. Harvard has
qualified for the NCAA tournament in each of the last four
seasons.
The Crimson and coach Junot, who is entering his first season at
the helm, also welcomed seven freshmen to the team this
season. Harvard will play six home games, beginning with the
season opener against Stanford. In addition, the Crimson will
host Providence (Sept. 29) and Boston College (Oct. 19) in
non-conference games, as well as Yale (Oct. 2), Cornell (Oct. 9)
and Columbia (Nov. 6) in Ivy League tilts.
