The Matchup:
After going 2-3-1 to start the regular season, the Harvard women's soccer team will play its first Ivy League game of the year at Penn Friday evening.  The Quakers carry a 3-3 overall record into Friday evening's matchup after falling at Loyola Marymount, 1-0, Sunday.  Harvard won its last game, 2-1, against Rhode Island Sept. 17, marking the first victory for the program at the Soldiers Field Soccer Stadium.

A History Lesson:
Harvard and Penn have met 21 times on the soccer field and the Crimson own the series lead by a considerable margin, 15-4-2.  Harvard won the first 12 meetings between the schools, but Penn has taken two of the last three meetings. Last fall, Harvard earned a 3-2 victory at home on Sept. 26, 2009.  Christina Hagner '10, Lizzy Nichols '10 and Melanie Baskind '12 each scored goals in the win, while Lauren Mann '10 made one save.

About Harvard:
The Crimson, which stands at 1-2-0 on the road this fall, has won the last two Ivy League titles.  Harvard has scored seven goals in its six games this season and is led offensively by senior co-captain Katherine Sheeleigh, who has amassed six points on two goals and two assists.  Both of Sheeleigh's goals have counted for game winners.  Junior Melanie Baskind has also tallied two goals, while junior Patricia Yau, and freshmen Elizabeth Weisman and Peyton Johnson have netted one goal apiece.

Two goalkeepers have earned victories for Harvard this season, led by sophomore Alexandra Millet, who stands at 1-2-1 with a 1.76 goals-against average and 17 saves.  Freshman Jessica Wright earned the victory against Rhode Island and is 1-1-0 with a 1.79 goals-against mark and 12 stops.

The Crimson has been outscored, 11-7, this season, while shots on goal are even, 40-40.  Harvard has earned more corner kicks, 41-33.

About Penn:
The Quakers have picked up wins over Villanova, 3-0, Saint Joseph's, 1-0, and Cal State Northridge, 1-0.  Kathryn Barth has scored two of Penn's five goals, with the others coming from Kaitlin Campbell, Christina Hart and Erin Beck.  Penn has been shut out in each of its three losses, but has returned the favor in its three victories, shutting down opponents each time.

Caroline Williams has played every minute in goal and stands at 3-3-0 with three clean sheets and a 0.67 goals-against average. The Quakers are outscoring teams, 5-4, while corner kicks are even, 24-24.

Record Watch:
Katherine Sheeleigh continues to climb the Harvard charts in career points and goals. Sheeleigh ranked sixth with 24 goals and eighth with 60 points during her time in Cambridge.
