Rebecca Millock and the Crimson won its 10th Ivy League
title in 2011, finishing the season 12-5-1 overall (Gil
Talbot).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's
soccer seniors Melanie Baskind, Lindsey Kowal and Rebecca Millock
have been selected to play at the 2011 NEWISA Senior Bowl. The game
is tentatively scheduled for Sunday Dec., 4 at Merrimack College in
North Andover, Mass. The contest is slated to begin at 11 a.m.
A co-captain, Baskind, a senior midfielder/forward from
Framingham, Mass., was the unanimous choice as the Ivy League
Player of the Year. She also garnered All-Ivy first-team accolades
after tying for the Ivy League lead with 24 points, eight goals and
eight assists. A two-time Academic All-Ivy choice and a three-time
Academic All-District honoree, as well as an Academic All-America
selection in 2010, Baskind received All-Ivy honors in each of her
four seasons in Cambridge.
A nominee for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award this fall,
Baskind concluded her career ranked tied for sixth in program
history with 79 career points, is sixth with 25 assists and stands
seventh with 27 goals.
Kowal, also a co-captain of the Crimson, who hails from East
Meadow, N.Y., played all 18 games at defense this fall. A four-time
All-Ivy League honoree, Kowal handed out four assists this season,
ranking third on the team in helpers.
Millock, also a defender, played in all 18 games for Harvard,
helping the Crimson enjoy a 10-game unbeaten streak to close the
regular season. A native of Loudonville, N.Y., Millock was an
All-Ivy League selection this fall.
