Harvard track and field assistant coach Bryan Fetzer has been
named the Director of Track and Field at the University of
Virginia, the school announced Tuesday. Fetzer served as the
sprints, vertical jumps and multi-events coach, as well as the
recruiting coordinator, in his time at Harvard.
"While we are sad to see him go, Virginia hired an outstanding
coach who I am confident will do a terrific job directing its
program,” said Jason Saretsky, Director of Harvard Track and
Field/Cross Country. “It is a great sign of how far our
program has come when we have assistant coaches moving on to become
Director of Track and Field programs in a BCS conference. We
wish Bryan well."
Fetzer came to Harvard after a three-year stint as an assistant
at Mississippi State.
