D-Fence
The Crimson held UMass to just 47 points on 26.6 percent shooting,
both season lows for a Harvard opponent. The last time the Crimson
held an opponent to under 50 points was in a 56-48 win at Penn on
Feb. 4, 2011. Harvard most recently limited an opponent to under
30.0 percent shooting in a 67-36 win at Cornell Jan. 29, 2011.
Lending a Helping Hand
Harvard recorded a season-high 22 assists on 27 field goals at
UMass, marking the first time the Crimson has dished out at least
20 assists since Jan. 9, 2011 when the team notched 25 assists on
30 baskets against NJIT. Five different Crimson were credited with
an assist against the Minutewomen, led by Brogan Berry's 10. Berry
owns two career 10-assist performances, and is the only active Ivy
League student-athlete to have multiple 10-plus assist games.
3-Ball
Harvard's nine three-pointers at UMass marked a season-high and
were the most for the team since hitting 14 shots from beyond the
arc against NJIT on Jan. 9, 2011. Six different Crimson made at
least one three pointer against the Minutewomen, with Victoria
Lippert's 3-of-5 performance leading the way. Harvard's
three-point percentage of 45.0 (9-20) was also the team's best
since shooting 46.7 percent (7-15) from deep against Princeton on
Feb. 4, 2011.
Team Effort
10 different Crimson scored against UMass, marking the second time
this season at least nine student-athletes have scored in the same
game. Harvard had at least nine student-athletes score at least one
point 12 times last year, including a 96-63 win over New Hampshire
in which 13 Crimson put points on the board.
Doubling Up
Brogan Berry and Emma Golen have each recorded double-doubles this
season, with Berry scoring 12 points and dishing out 10 assists at
UMass and Golen notching 10 points and 10 rebounds against Boston
University. Golen's double-double, the first of the year for the
Crimson, was the team's first since Emma Markley's '11 22-point,
11-rebound effort against Brown on Feb. 12, 2011. Miriam Rutzen,
meanwhile, matched Golen on the glass with 10 boards against BU,
making the two the first pair of Crimson student-athletes to notch
at least 10 rebounds in the same game since Jackie Alemany '11 (13
rbs.) and Victoria Lippert (10 rbs.) did so at Cornell on Feb. 19,
2010.
Rollin' Golen
Junior Emma Golen has been on a tear over the last six games,
averaging 10.9 ppg and 6.1 rpg while shooting 50.0 percent from the
floor and 51.9 percent from three. Golen has scored in
double-digits six times during this stretch, the only six
double-digit performances of her career, and has helped her team to
a 5-2 record in the process.
Join the Club
Junior Victoria Lippert has scored 894 career points and needs
just 106 more to become the 16th member of Harvard's 1,000 point
club. Sophomore Christine Clark, meanwhile, is more than halfway
there with 527 points in just 40 career games.
Brogan Berry and Emma Markley '11 both joined the club last year,
becoming the second duo in program history to reach the 1,000 point
plateau in the same season after Erin Maher '93 and Deb
Flandermeyer '93 did so during the 1992-93 campaign. Berry,
meanwhile, became just the fifth student-athlete in program history
to reach 1,000 points in her junior season.

percentage (41.5) while Victoria Lippert ranks fourth (37.1).

for second in the conference with Golen's 1.4 makes per game
ranking her 10th. The two have combined to shoot 45.9 percent from
three over the team's last seven games, with Golen hitting on
14-of-27 attempts and Lippert nailing 14-of-34.
Cleaning the Glass

season, including each of the last nine. Harvard had not
outrebounded opponents in nine straight games since the 2006-07

+7.4 rebounding margin and 32.8 rebounds allowed are good for

percent (4-7) with less than two minutes to play while going
17-of-20 from the line for a total of 25 points. Brogan Berry,
meanwhile, has totaled 18 points on 62.5 percent shooting (5-8)
while going a perfect 8-of-8 at the charity stripe.
