CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After tallying the
game-winning goal with only five seconds remaining against Columbia
Saturday, Brooke Dickens of the Harvard women's soccer team
has been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week, the conference
office announced Monday afternoon.
Dickens, a native of Bakersfield, Calif., scored the first
goal of her career at 89:55, as the Crimson knocked off the Lions,
1-0, on Senior Day Nov. 3.
In the final moments of the second half, Aisha Price sent a
cross into the box from the left side. Dickens got a header on
target, and the ball deflected off Columbia goalkeeper Grace Redmon
and into the back of the net.
Harvard completed its season 9-5-3 overall and 3-3-1 in the Ivy
League.
