Harvard boasts the sixth-ranked men's swimming and
diving recruiting class in the country (Gil Talbot).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – CollegeSwimming.com released its annual
men's recruiting class rankings on Wednesday and the Website
tabbed Harvard's crop of nine incoming freshmen as the
sixth-best class in the country.
“We are pleased with our incoming class, but what is most
impressive to us is the character and values each holds,”
stated Tim Murphy, the Ulen-Brooks Endowed Coach for
Harvard Men's Swimming and Diving. “They realize the
value of a Harvard education and are passionate about their
swimming. Each spoke to us about wanting the athletic and academic
challenge our school offers. At the end of their career here, each
will be satisfied that they have been pushed in the pool and
classroom and worked toward reaching their potential in both. We
look forward to their arrival this fall and to the contributions
they can make.”
Harvard's incoming class is made up of nine individuals
including Christian Carbone, Steven Kekacs, Jacob Luna, Tyler Rocca and Christian Yeager who each competed at the 2012 Olympic
Team Trials. During their respective high school careers the nine
combined for four All-America honors, six state championships and
six academic All-America nods. Other members of the class include
Adejia Boutte, Robert Doles, Ryan Fortin and Ji
Lim.
