'Pack the House' with Women's Basketball Feb. 23 vs. Yale

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's basketball team will host its first annual “Pack the House” game Friday, Feb. 23 as the Crimson takes on Yale in a late-season showdown between the two rivals.

Harvard is offering several ticket promotions for the game aimed to fill the stands and create an electric atmosphere for the Crimson as they make a run at the program's 12th Ivy League championship. Additionally, the game will serve as Harvard's “Pink Zone” game to raise awareness and support in the fight against breast cancer.

Ticket Promotions

  • Faculty/Staff Night – All Harvard Faculty/Staff receive up to four free tickets
  • Community Night – Allston/Cambridge/Brighton residents enter free
  • Coke Family Four Pack – Four tickets and four free Cokes for $20 – plus a chance to win Family of the Game!
  • Youth Basketball Ticket Offer – Coaches and teams enter free (contact Lauren Smith in the Harvard Athletics Ticket Office at 617-495-2211)
  • All youth 12 and under enter free (all games)

Several student giveaways are also being planned to encourage Harvard undergrads to fill the student section. Free “Beat Yale” t-shirts will be given away to students at the marketing table as they enter Lavietes Pavilion and free pizza will be given away in the stands.

All fans wearing pink in support of the “Pink Zone” will have a chance to spin the Harvard Athletics prize wheel for a chance to win t-shirts, rally towels or other giveaway items. A sign making station with decorations will also be provided for all fans who enter the building.

In addition, every youth basketball team in attendance will be entered to win court time at Lavietes Pavilion prior to Harvard's game against Penn on Feb. 2 and all teams will receive free rally towels.

Fans will be treated to several in-game promotions as well, including the UNREAL candy student “Sweet Shots” and “Bounce 4 Bucks” promotions. Following the game, fans are invited to take part in an autograph session with Harvard's student-athletes as well as a sampling of UNREAL candy.

Harvard is currently in first place of the Ivy League standings with a 10-5 overall record and a 1-0 mark in Ancient Eight play. Led by the conference's leading scorer, Christine Clark, the Crimson has rattled off three consecutive wins including an 88-66 blowout of Dartmouth in its last time out.
