The Crimson has earned a program record 13 weekly awards
from the Ivy League (OAC).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Temi
Fagbenle has once again been named the Ivy League Rookie of the
Week, earning her sixth award of the season after an eight-point,
10-rebound performance at Dartmouth on Saturday.
Fagbenle now finds herself tied for the ninth most rookie of the
week honors in one season, joining the likes of former Crimson
Brogan Berry '12 and Reka Cserny '05. Allison Feaster
'98 set the program record for most awards in a season at
nine in 1994-95 when she averaged 17.0 ppg and 11.2 rpg.
Harvard has combined to win 13 of the 24 weekly awards given out
by the Ivy League this season, matching the program record and
ranking second in conference history. Fagbenle has a total of eight
awards to her name, having twice been named player of the week
along with her six rookie of the week honors, while Christine Clark and Victoria Lippert have garnered player of the week
honors three times and two time, respectively. The Crimson has
earned at least one weekly award from the conference office each
week it has played a game.
Fagbenle currently ranks among the Ivy League leaders in several
statistical categories including scoring (11.3 ppg, 12th),
rebounding (7.0 rpg, 4th), and blocked shots (1.3, 4th). She also
boasts the second best field-goal percentage in the conference at
51.1 percent. The sophomore has registered three double-doubles on
the year and has pulled down 10-plus rebounds five times.
