CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Fifteen members of the Harvard
men's hockey team have been earned ECAC Hockey All-Academic
honors for the 2012-13 season, the league announced Wednesday.
Four members of the class of 2013 led the way for the Crimson,
fronted by economics concentrator Alex Fallstrom and sociology
concentrator Conor Morrison who both earned their third league
academic honor. Danny Biega, a sociology concentrator, and Brendan
Rempel, an economics concentrator, rounded out the honorees in the
senior class.
2013-14 captain Dan Ford (government) picked up his third
all-academic honor, as did classmates Danny Fick (economics) and
John Caldwell (economics). Colin Blackwell (government), Ryan
McGregor (economics) and Mike Seward )organismic and evolutionary
biology) each earned their second all-academic nod from the ECAC,
rounding out Harvard's multiple honorees.
The freshman class was well represented as five Crimson skaters
earned the academic accolades. Ivy League Rookie of the Year Jimmy
Vesey made the list, as did Desmond Bergin, Kyle Criscuolo, Brayden
Jaw and Peter Traber.
Players are eligible for the All-Academic team if they earn a
cumulative grade-point average of at least a 3.00 on a 4.00 scale
or have a GPA over 3.00 over the last three semesters.
