No. 25 Men's Tennis Bests No. 34 Minnesota, 5-2

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Rallying in singles play, the No. 25 Harvard men's tennis team upended No. 34 Minnesota Saturday afternoon at the Murr Tennis Center.

After dropping the doubles point, the Crimson won five of six singles matches to take the victory.

Senior captain Denis Nguyen upset No. 25 Leandro Toledo at the No. 1 position, winning 6-2, 6-4. Junior Nicky Hu and senior captain Alex Steinroeder each won three-set battles at the No. 3 and No. 4 spots, respectively. Hu edged Jack Hamburg 7-6 in the final set to earn the Crimson point. Steinroeder pushed past Matic Spec, 6-4, 2-6, 6-3.

Freshman Kenny Tao got the best of Felix Corwin (7-5, 7-6) and sophomore Brian Yeung won in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2, at the No. 6 spot.  

Harvard continues its home stand tomorrow against No. 23 Vanderbilt.
