CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's tennis team returns to action at the Murr Center Feb. 8 for an 11 a.m. matchup with No. 70 North Texas. The Crimson has won two-straight decisions entering the contest. The first 20 fans in attendance will receive a free tennis fan shirt.
Last Time Out
In a matchup between the two highest-ranked teams in the Boston area, No. 49 Harvard prevailed over No. 60 Boston College, 4-3.
Harvard gained its fourth and final point of the contest when captain Sylvia Li defeated Boston College's Wan-Yi Sweeting in the sixth singles position, 6-2, 6-3. With the victory, Li added to her singles win streak, which now stands at seven matches. The Crimson also earned singles wins from Nikki Kallenberg in the second slot, 7-6 (5), 4-6, 6-4, and Annika Ringblom in the fourth, 6-1, 6-1.
In what would end up being a pivotal doubles point, Harvard conquered the Eagles in the second and third positions to get out to an early lead. Ringblom paired with Monica Lin at No. 2 and secured a 6-3 win, while Li and Amanda Lin picked up a 6-3 win of their own from No 3.
Scouting No. 70 North Texas
The Mean Green has hovered at No. 70 in the ITA poll for each of the last two weeks after starting the year at No. 66. Kamilla Galieva is the team's only ranked player, checking in at No. 113. The team is 1-5 to start the spring season, with its lone win coming at home against Stephen F. Austin. This is the first matchup in series history between the two schools.

Playing in five tournaments during the fall, Harvard earned plenty of hardware. The Crimson won two of three flights at the Cissie Leary Invitational, all-four singles groups at the Billie Jean King Invite, and every division at the Harvard Invitational.
Overall in 2014-15, sophomore June Lee and freshman Ellen Jang-Milsten lead the team with 13 singles victories, with freshman Nikki Kallenberg close behind with 12. All of Harvard's student-athletes sport a record above .500. In doubles play, Monica Lin has combined with teammates for 16 wins, with Annika Ringblom in second with 13.
The Crimson student-athletes have combined for a 123-52 (.703) overall record, including an 84-35 mark in singles play and 39-17 record in doubles.

A Breath of Fresh Air
Harvard's three freshmen have adjusted well to collegiate tennis, combining for a 31-10 record in singles play and 25-12 when paired with a teammate. Nikki Kallenberg won the A-division at the Billie Jean King Invitational, Ellen Jang-Milsten won the A-division at the Harvard Invitational, and Annika Ringblom paired with Monica Lin to win the doubles flight at the Cissie Leary Invitational.

On the Sidelines
Traci Green is in her eighth season at the helm for the Crimson. Under her guidance, Harvard won the program's 18th Ivy League title in 2009 with a 13-8 overall record and a 6-1 conference mark. Green owns a 76-64 overall record, including a 74-47 mark over the past six-plus seasons, and 30-19 mark in the Ancient Eight.

Harvard heads to the west coast for contests with No. 8 Stanford on February 14 and No. 5 Cal on February 15. Both matches will start at 3 p.m. EST.
