In the Polls
Harvard opened the season at No. 4, but edged up to No. 3 in this week's USRowing poll. The Ivy League owns five of the top six spots, as Cornell and Princeton sit atop the polls and Columbia (No. 4) and Yale (No. 6) are not far behind.

Harvard-Penn-Cornell Series
The Crimson owns the all-time series lead against Cornell and Penn 17-7-1. Harvard had won five-straight before the Big Red earned a narrow victory a season ago. Cornell finished in 5:53.0 at Lake Cayuga, while Harvard was just behind in 5:54.2. Both squads bested Penn by open water (6:08.7).

Scouting Cornell
The No. 1 team in the nation, Cornell will be opening the season against Penn and Harvard. Head coach Chris Kerber was named the 2014 IRA Coach of the Year and the Big Red's varsity eight was named the IRA Crew of the Year after posting an undefeated regular season and winning both the Eastern Sprints and the IRA national championship.

Scouting Penn
No. 8 Penn has a week of racing under its belt as the Quakers vaulted up three spots in the national rankings to No. 8 in the country with a victory over No. 12 Mercyhurst last week. The Penn varsity boat pulled ahead and held a comfortable lead near the finish, where they stopped the clock at 5:49.3, while the Lakers clocked out at 5:57.9.

Scouting Georgetown
Georgetown will take on Drexel and Temple in its first race of the season Saturday before facing off against the Crimson and Blue Hens. Giuseppe Lanzone heads the Hoya crew.
