GOLD RIVER, Calif. – After receiving an at-large bid for the third year in a row, the Harvard-Radcliffe heavyweight crew is set to trek to Gold River, California, and Lake Natoma for the 2015 NCAA Women's Rowing Championships May 29-31. The regatta will crown national champions in varsity eight, second varsity eight and varsity four competitions.

The Field
The NCAA selected 22 programs, including 11 conference champions that received automatic bids. Radcliffe will join two other Ivy League teams in Brown and Princeton, the Ivy League automatic qualifier. The varsity eight will be challenged in its first race with familiar foes in Brown, UMass and Boston University, along with Indiana and Washington in Heat 4.
The second varsity eight will race in Heat 3, going head-to-head with Northeastern, Indiana, Ohio State, California and Jacksonville, while the varsity four will take on Northeastern, Virginia, California and UCLA in Heat 2 in the morning. For all races, the top two boats advance to the A/B semifinals, while the remainder of the crews will head to reps in the afternoon.
NCAA History
The Black and White will race in the NCAA regatta for the fifth straight year and 17th time during the 19-year history of the event. Radcliffe earned a varsity eight bid in 1997 and then team berths in eight straight seasons and again in 2007, '08, '09, '11, '12, '13 and '14. Radcliffe won the NCAA team and varsity eight championships in 2003.
Last Year at NCAAs
After earning an at-large bid to the 2014 NCAA Championships, Radcliffe compiled 62 points to take 13th place after the varsity eight finished 11th overall, and the second varsity crossed the finish line in 13th.
Last Time Out
Radcliffe is coming off a fourth-place showing Sunday at the Ivy League Women's Rowing Championships on the Cooper River. The Black and White was led by second-place finishes from the second varsity eight and the varsity four C.
