NASHVILLE, Tenn. – No. 32 Harvard men's tennis (6-3) rallied from a 3-1 deficit to take down No. 27 Vanderbilt (3-3), 4-3, Sunday afternoon at Currey Tennis Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Senior Kelvin Lam secured the match for the Crimson in straight sets at the No. 6 spot.

"My opponent was playing defensive the whole match, so I just tried to stay aggressive, make the right plays and come to the net to finish points off," said Lam. "I think it was a great effort for everyone to fight all the way back from a 3-1 deficit. The seventh men were supporting the team all the way through and really made it feel like a home match."

In three close matches, the Crimson took the doubles point, 2-1, after Nicky Hu and Brian Yeung clinched with a 7-6 squeaker over Cameron Klinger and Rhys Johnson. Harvard then fell into a hole, losing at the No. 4, No. 1 and No. 2 spots.

"It was a great team win," said associate head coach Andrew Rueb. "Dave and I are so proud of their fight and resilience. Vandy is a strong, well-coached team and it took everything we had.

"Kelvin has worked so hard this past year and is playing at a high level, Rueb continued. "It is never easy being the last match with everyone watching, but Kelvin stayed aggressive and finished with gusto."

Yeung stopped the Commodore momentum, posting a 6-3, 7-6 win over Baker Newman. Andy Zhou evened the match, coming back from a 6-3 loss in the first set to best Kris Yee in three sets (3-6, 7-5, 6-2). The contest finished with Lam, who took down Alex Ross (6-4, 7-6) to guarantee the Crimson upset.

Harvard heads to New York City for the ECAC Championships next weekend.
