Springlike Temps, Rain Alter Colby Carnival

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – High temperatures and excessive rain have forced the delay of the 2018 ski season for the Harvard Crimson. Set to begin competition today at the Colby Carnival, skiers must wait another 24 hours. With cold temperatures in the forecast, conditions are expected to improve at the Quarry Road Recreation Area. The classic-style race has been scrapped, while the skate competition will occur over 5K (women's) and 10K (men's) distances. Start time is expected to be 10 a.m. Tag along with @harvardskiing on its afternoon off via Instagram. For tomorrow's results, please visit BartTiming.com.

The Crimson alpine ski unit is scheduled to begin its season at the Colby Carnival at Sugarloaf Mountain, Carrabassett Valley, Maine, next weekend.
