CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Devon Wills, The Carole Kleinfelder Head Coach for Harvard Women's Lacrosse, announced that Mira Shane joined the Harvard women's lacrosse coaching staff.
Shane completed a standout four-year career as a goalkeeper for the University of Michigan, where she helped lead the program to its first NCAA Tournament bid in 2019. The program's first ever Tewaaraton Award nominee, Shane was an IWLCA All-Region Second Team selection in 2019. A native of Princeton, N.J., Shane is Michigan's all-time winningest goalie in program history (24 wins), the career saves leader (360) and career save percentage leader (.451) with the Wolverines.
Off the field, Shane was president of Michigan's Athletes for Community Transformation, leading a group of student-athlete mentors for children from lower income backgrounds. She also oversaw mental health awareness and initiatives for all student athletes as a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. She was also a beatboxer for the acapella group called 58 Greene.
Shane graduated from Michigan with a degree in African American Studies, and minors in Law, Justice & Social Change, and Music.
