BOSTON – Taking the court for the first time on the road this season, Harvard men's basketball fell to Northeastern, 84-79, on Friday night at Matthews Arena.

Sophomore Noah Kirkwood led the Crimson with a team-high 18 points, while senior Chris Lewis was close behind with 17 and a game-leading nine rebounds. Senior Christian Juzang dished five assists to go with seven points of his own.

Northeastern jumped out to a quick start, leading 13-2, but Djuricic kept the Crimson in striking distance with seven first half points, including a tip-in and a triple to lead a 10-2 run midway through the period. The Huskies persisted with a run of their own, and took a 44-27 lead into the break.

Harvard showed its resilience in the second half, scoring 52 points in the period. The double-digit advantage was reduced to nine after a reverse layup from Lewis with 12:44 to play, and Baker continued with a triple in transition to make it a six-point game. Harvard cut the Northeastern lead to one possession multiple times, but the home team knocked down free throws late to secure the outcome.

• Kirkwood led the scoring with 18 points, finishing 7-for-12 from the field with three 3-pointers.
