CAMBRIDGE, Mass – Chris Lewis led the Crimson with his season-best 22-point performance, as the Harvard men's basketball team earned a 88-75 win at George Washington Saturday afternoon.

Noah Kirkwood added 16 points, and Rio Haskett added 14 points, as the Crimson improved to 7-4 overall on the year. Robert Baker blocked three shots and finished with 14 points, while Lewis was 10-of-13 from the field.

In a back-and-forth beginning to the first half, the Colonials utilized the 3-point line to take a 19-14 advantage by the second media timeout at 10:12. GW (5-6) continued to hit long-distance shots and upped its lead to 32-24 with 4:38 left in the frame. The Crimson went inside and outscored the Colonials, 28-16, inside the paint to cut the deficit to two, 39-37, at the half. Lewis led the team with 12 points and five rebounds at the break, and Harvard had the edge in points off the bench, 11-0, in the first.

In the second, after Lewis opened the scoring with a jumper in the lane to tie the score, the Crimson stayed within one, 46-45, with 15:02 to play. Harvard scored the next two baskets to grab its first lead since early on in the first, 49-46.

Harvard held a one or two possession lead over the next several minutes until Rio Haskett nailed a triple to make it a seven-point game, 62-55, at the 9:07 mark. The Crimson defense continued to slow down the Colonials and upped its advantage to 68-55 with just over six minutes remaining.

Armel Potter led the Colonials with 22 points.
