Women's Basketball Prepares to Face Penn, Princeton

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Continuing its five-game homestand, the Harvard women's basketball team (10-5, 1-1 Ivy League) is set to face Penn and Princeton this weekend, Jan. 31-Feb. 1 at Lavietes Pavilion. The Crimson will tip-off against the Quakers on Friday on 7 p.m., followed by a matchup with the Tigers at 5 p.m. on Saturday. Both games will be broadcast on ESPN+.

What to Know
- Harvard moved to 10-5 overall and 1-1 in Ivy League play with a 64-49 win over Dartmouth at Lavietes Pavilion last weekend. Three Crimson players recorded double-digit points, paced by first-year Lola Mullaney with 18 points, who also collected two steals. Sophomore Maggie McCarthy followed behind with 13 points and four steals, while senior Jeannie Boehm registered 10 points and led the team with eight rebounds.  
- The Crimson entered the first weekend of conference play with its best non-conference record since the 2016-17 season, earning a 9-4 record with a 4-1 home mark at Lavietes Pavilion.
- Taking advantage of home court, the Crimson boasts a 5-1 record at Lavietes Pavilion this season.
- Dominating the Ivy League defensive stats, Harvard ranks first in defensive rebounds, averaging 30.3 to top the standings. Boehm leads the league and the Crimson in rebounding as well, averaging 10.3 per game. Harvard has five players in the top 25 of the conference in rebounds.
- First-year Mullaney continues to lead the Crimson's offense, averaging 15.4 points per game to top Harvard's line up and place fifth in the Ivy League rankings. Mullaney has been prolific from three-point range, averaging 3.2 made triples per game to lead the conference.
- Penn enters the weekend in seventh in the Ivy League standings after dropping its first conference contest to Princeton, 55-75. The Quakers are looking to snap a three-game losing streak as conference play continues.
- Princeton comes to Cambridge with a 13-1 overall record and 1-0 conference mark to take second in the Ivy League standings. The Tigers are currently enduring a nine-game win streak, dating back to Nov. 24.

Leading the Way
The Friends of Harvard Women's Basketball Head Coach Kathy Delaney-Smith returns for her 38th season at the helm of the program after leading the Crimson to its fourth-straight, and ninth in the last 11 years, WNIT appearance last season. The winningest coach in Ivy League basketball history with 602 career victories, head coach Kathy Delaney-Smith passed former Princeton head coach Pete Carril (514) for most wins by an Ancient Eight coach on either the men's or women's side during the 2013-14 season.

Harvard will conclude its homestand with Yale and Brown next weekend, Feb. 7-8. Tip-off is slated for 5 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively, and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
