CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior Kieran Tuntivate and Jason Saretsky, The William W. "Bill" McCurdy Director of Track and Field/Cross Country, collected USTFCCCA Northeast Region awards, the organization announced today (March 6).

Tuntivate, a native of Wilmington, Del., was awarded the Northeast Region Men's Track Athlete of the Year. Tuntivate's time in the mile (3:57.36) marked a new Harvard record, while ranking first in the Ivy League this season, second in Ivy League history, as well as ranking ninth in the nation. The senior broke both the Harvard and Ivy League record for his efforts in the 3000m (7:49.15), ranking 10th nationally. Tuntivate took home the Ivy League Heps Champion title in both the 3000m and the 5000m, while also garnering the Male Most Outstanding Track Performer award for his efforts. Tuntivate will compete at the Indoor NCAA Championships, running in the mile and the 3000m.

Saretsky was awarded the Northeast Region Women's Coach of the Year, after guiding his team to a second-place finish behind defending champion Penn at Ivy League Heps. The Crimson fell to Penn by a mere seven points, while collecting two individual titles and a relay title. Sprinter Katina Martin collected both titles for Harvard, winning both the 60m and the 200m, while the distance medley relay placed first (Anna Juul, Karina Joiner, Tessa Medrano and Abbe Goldstein / 11:28.47), working its way into fifth in the Harvard record books. Goldstein (4:35.70) and Juul (4:37.50) are ranked in the top-20 in the mile, and will compete at the NCAA Championships. The team ranks first in the USTFCCCA Northeast region.

Tuntivate, Goldstein and Juul will represent the Crimson at the NCAA Championships, March 13-14, hosted in Albuquerque, N.M.
