Women's Lacrosse Returns to Jordan Field For Saturday Contest Against Villanova

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Harvard women's lacrosse (2-3), hosts Villanova (2-4) on Saturday (March 7) for a 12 p.m. contest at Jordan Field. Harvard and Villanova have met only once before in women's lacrosse, with Harvard earning a 7-4 win at Villanova on March 21, 1998. In Harvard's last game on Wednesday night at Boston University, the Crimson put in a dominant performance against the Terriers, racing out to a 10-0 lead and earning a 13-4 road win against the Terriers.

What to Know
• On Wednesday night against BU, junior Madison Conklin had two goals and three assists, and both Hannah Keating and Katie Muldoon added hat tricks in Harvard's 13-4 win. Grace Hulslander had a team-high five draw controls, while sophomore Shea Jenkins had three ground balls, four draw controls, and three caused turnovers. Goalkeeper Grace Rotondo had three saves, five ground balls, and three caused turnovers in a standout performance in net. 
• Harvard recorded its most lopsided season opening win (a 15-3 victory over Niagara on Feb. 16) since a 19-2 victory over Holy Cross on Feb. 24, 2008.
•Through five games, sophomore Charlotte Clark (seven goals, five assists) who is having a breakout season, and Madison Conklin (four goals, eight assists) lead the team in scoring. Senior Hannah Keating (10 goals, assist) and junior Tessa Queri (10 goals, assist) lead the team in goals. Sophomore Grace Hulslander (nine goals, two assists, 25 draw controls) has also been impactful. Shea Jenkins leads the team with 10 caused turnovers and has added 19 draw controls and 11 ground balls.
• Junior goalkeeper Grace Rotondo (2-3-0, 7.93 GAA, 46.6% Save %) is off to a strong start in net.
• Harvard returns three of its top five scorers from a season ago, led by sophomore Grace Hulslander, a Second Team All-Ivy selection who recorded 39 points (29 goals, 10 assists). Junior Madison Conklin added 15 goals and nine assists, and senior Hannah Keating recorded 15 goals and an assist a year ago.
• On the defensive end, junior goalkeeper Grace Rotondo made all 15 starts in net for Harvard in 2019 and returns for the Crimson. Rotondo, posted a 12.00 goals-against average and a .401 save percentage. Rotondo was fourth in the Ivy League with an average of 7.8 saves per game. Sophomore Shea Jenkins, a Second Team All-Ivy selection, led the team with 49 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers. She was tops in the Ivy League with 3.27 ground balls per game. Hulslander had 62 draw controls to lead the team in that category.
• Last year, Harvard was No. 2 in the Ivy League in ground balls per game (19.13).
• The Crimson are led this season by senior captains Tate Green and Julia DiNovi 

At The Helm
Devon Wills, The Carole Kleinfelder Head Coach for Harvard Women's Lacrosse, returns for her second season at Harvard, leading the Crimson to six wins in her inaugural campaign. Wills arrived in Cambridge after a six-year coaching stint at USC, serving as associate head coach in her last three seasons, where she worked specifically with the Trojan defense and goaltenders. She was a three-time All-American goalie at Dartmouth, leading the NCAA in goals-against average and helped the Big Green advance to the NCAA championship game in 2006.
