MINSK, Belarus --Â Sophomore Yaraslau Slavikouski of the Harvard wrestling team recently earned a bronze medal at the Belarus Senior Nationals on Jan. 12.
Slavikouski took home the bronze medal at 125kg after winning three of his four matches during the tournament, including one against a multiple time Belarus national champion. Slavikouski's lone defeat came to Ibragim Saidov, a former Olympic bronze medalist.Â
During his first year with the Crimson, Slavikouski, who competes at heavyweight, was an All-America second-team honoree and a unanimous All-Ivy League first-team selection. A native of Rechitsa, Belarus, Slavikouski was also the unanimous choice for Ivy Rookie of the Year, the first Harvard rookie to win the honor in 16 years.
