Box Score CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Building on an already impressive season, the No. 19/RV Harvard football team powered through Lafayette, topping the Leopards 30-3 Saturday afternoon at Harvard Stadium. With the win, the Crimson improves to 5-0, while the Leopards slip to 2-5.
Spurred on by its dominant rushing attack, the Crimson powered for 229 rushing yards against Lafayette's defense. Running back
Aidan Borguet broke loose for 169 yards and two touchdowns, with
Sone Ntoh adding 51 yards and a touchdown of his own.
Not to be outdone, the Crimson defense smothered Lafayette's offense, holding them to just three points and 158 yards of total offense. The dominant performance was cemented by a two-interception day from sophomore
Alex Washington, as well as seven sacks, including 2.5 by
Jacob Sykes, and 11 tackles for loss from the unit overall.
Starting off the scoring early, Harvard punched in the rock less than two minutes into the game on its opening drive, culminating in a powerful two-yard touchdown run from Borguet. The Crimson would add a field goal and another Borguet touchdown run before half, entering the break with a stifling 17-3 lead over Lafayette.
The second half would see more of the same impressive play, with the Crimson adding another two field goals, before a game sealing-nine yard touchdown run from Ntoh grew Harvard's lead to 30-3, extinguishing any hopes of a Lafayette comeback.
