What to Know
• Saturday's game will be the 124th all-time meeting between Harvard and Dartmouth, with the first game having taken place back in 1882 (an 8-0 win for the Crimson). Harvard controls the all-time series with a 71-47-5 advantage. The Crimson took 14-straight games against its rivals to the north until 2018. Dartmouth has won the last two meetings, including the 2019 matchup when the Big Green won on a 43-yard hail mary as time expired. The Big Green is Harvard's second-most played rival, behind Yale (136 games).
• Harvard's five-overtime contest marked the longest game in Crimson football history. Harvard had played three triple-overtime games (2005 at Yale, 2013 at Holy Cross and 2013 vs. Princeton) for the previous longest mark.
• With the 30-3 victory over Lafayette, Tim Murphy, The Thomas Stephenson Family Head Coach for Harvard Football, extended his lead for most wins for a coach at an Ivy League school with his 183rd victory with the Crimson.
• Jack McGowan, Ivy Defensive Player of the Week, recorded a team-best 11 tackles and made one of four Crimson interceptions in the 18-16 five-overtime loss at Princeton last week. Anthony Nelson blocked a field goal in double overtime, Harvard's first since Truman Jones blocked a Princeton field-goal try in 2019. Harvard has a balanced offense, passing for 1,112 yards and rushing for 1,112 yards this season.
• This week's game will be Harvard's 1,339th varsity football game. The Crimson has an all-time record of 884-404-50 (.679).
• Heading into Week 7, Harvard leads or is tied for the national lead in rushing defense (46.3), sacks (4.83),  team pass efficiency defense (93.88) and redzone defense (.500). Harvard is also third in team tackles for a loss (8.3) and fourth-down conversion defense (.118). Khalid Thomas is fifth in interceptions per game (0.6) and Jonah Lipel stands sixth in field-goal percentage (.900). Aaron Shampklin ranks ninth in rushing yards per game (101.6).

At The Helm
• In his 27th season, Harvard's all-time winningest head coach, Tim Murphy, enters this week's game with a 183-82 record with the Crimson and a 215-127-1 overall head coaching record, which includes five years at Cincinnati and two years at Maine. Since the formation of the Ivy League in 1956, no Ivy coach has compiled as many wins as Murphy's 183, and he is just one of 11 coaches to win 100-plus games. Murphy also owns 126 Ivy League wins, third-most all-time. Murphy has led Harvard to nine Ivy championships (1997, 2001, 2004, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2015).

Up Next
• Harvard will head back on the road to visit Columbia Saturday, Nov. 6. Kickoff will be 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
