Women’s Volleyball Wraps Up Road Stretch at Yale and Brown

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Wrapping up an 11-match road stretch, the Harvard women's volleyball team (5-7, 2-1 Ivy League) will travel to Yale and Brown this weekend, Oct. 8-9. The Crimson will match up against the Bulldogs on Friday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m., before squaring off against the Brown Bears on Saturday, Oct. 9 at 5 p.m. Both contests will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
 
What to Know
- The Crimson added another Ivy League win under its belt last weekend, topping Penn on the road, 3-1. Harvard narrowly fell to Princeton in five sets to move to 2-1 in conference action and 5-7 overall.
- Harvard is 5-1 in its last six matches as it prepares for its final two matches of an 11-match road swing.
- The trio of Jaimie Rao, Katie Vorhies and Ashley Wang continue to provide strength to the Crimson's offense. Rao leads the way with 3.24 kills per set, good for seventh in the Ivy League rankings. Vorhies and Wang trail closely behind with 3.10 and 2.25 kills per set, respectively.
- Sophomore Bella Almanza moved into the ranks of the Ivy League assists column, averaging 5.11 assists per set. Wang and Rocky Aguirre top the line up as well with 4.80 and 4.13 assists per set, respectively.
- First-year Lindsey Zhang and Wang guide the Crimson's defensive efforts, averaging 4.07 and 4.00 digs per set, respectively. Sophomore duo Ariana White and Olivia Cooper dominate at the net, posting 1.67 and 1.07 blocks per set and place third and sixth in the conference, respectively.
- Yale heads into the weekend at third place in the Ivy League standings with a 9-3 overall record and 2-1 conference mark. Brown sits one spot above in second after accumulating a 10-3 overall record and 3-0 unbeaten mark in Ancient Eight action.

Coaches Corner
Head coach Jennifer Weiss is in the midst of her 29th season at the helm of the Harvard women's volleyball program. Weiss has accumulated a 155-169 Ivy record, has led the Crimson to three Ivy League titles and has guided 82 All-Ivy selections during her tenure.

Harvard will return home to the Malkin Athletic Center next weekend, Oct. 15-16, welcoming Cornell and Columbia to Cambridge.
