What to Know
- Harvard stands as one of four remaining unbeaten programs in the country alongside No. 1/1 Florida State (11-0-0), No. 3/3 UCLA (10-0-1), and No. 24/RV Georgetown (6-0-6).
- With six points, the Crimson enters the weekend in a three-way tie for first place in the Ivy League standings alongside No. 17/RV Princeton and Brown.
- After entering the Top Drawer Soccer national rankings on Sept. 6 at No. 21, Harvard has remained a fixture in the poll, moving up to No. 19 on Sept. 13, to No. 15 on Sept. 20, and to No. 10 on Sept. 27. The Crimson stands at No. 10 again this week.
- In the NCAA RPI Rankings – through games as of Oct. 3 – Harvard checks in at No. 9 in the nation. The Crimson also appears in the United Soccer Coaches poll at No. 18.
- At 8-0-1 overall, Harvard has registered its best start since beginning the 1996 season with an 11-0-0 record.
- In the national NCAA rankings, the Crimson stands third in win percentage (.944), fourth in shots on goal per game (11.44), fourth in corner kicks per game (8.33), ninth in assists per game (3.00), 11th in shots per game (20.78), 18th in points per game (8.11), and 28th in goals per game (2.56).
- In the individual NCAA rankings, first-year Hannah Bebar leads the nation in shots on goal per game (3.00) and ranks ninth in shots per game (4.62). Junior goalkeeper Hannah Gardner ranks eighth in the country in GAA (0.416) and 22nd in save percentage (0.649).
- Several Crimson student-athletes earned recognition from Top Drawer Soccer this past week. First-year Hannah Bebar was featured in the organization's "Best of September" profiles. In the group's Midseason First-Year Top 100 Rankings, Bebar (No. 5), Jade Rose (No. 12), Ainsley Ahmadian (No. 14), and Josefine Hasbo (No. 23) all feature in the top 25.
- As a team in the Ivy League rankings, Harvard ranks first in shots per game (20.78), shots on goal per game (11.44), and corner kicks per game (8.33), while standing second in points per game (8.11), goals per game (2.56), assists per game (3.00), and GAA (0.84).
- First-year Hannah Bebar – the nation's leader in shots on goal per game – paces the Ivy League in shots per game (4.63) and shots on goal per game (3.00). She earned Ivy League Rookie of the Week (Sept. 27) honors and a spot on Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week (Sept. 28) after scoring a pair of goals in the Crimson's 3-0 win over Penn in its Ivy League opener. Bebar ranks second on the team in points (10) behind three goals and four assists.
- Last weekend in its first Ivy League road match of the year, Harvard defeated Yale, 2-0, behind goals from juniors Jordan Di Verniero and Hannah Griffin. Junior goalkeeper Hannah Gardner posted her second consecutive shutout in conference play.
- Junior Angela Caloia leads the Ivy League in goals (six) and ranks second in the conference in game-winning goals (two) and points (14) on the season. She has tallied points in six of the Crimson's nine games on the year and has 12 career goals.
- Senior Murphy Agnew has tallied four goals on the year and now has 17 career goals. She ranks eighth in the Ivy League in goals (four) and 10th in points (eight).
- First-years Hannah Bebar, Ainsley Ahmadian, and Nicola Golen lead the team and sit in a tie for fifth in the Ivy League with four assists apiece. Bebar has posted points in five of her last six outings.
- Sophomore Taylor Fasnacht and first-year Josefine Hasbo have both tallied six points on the year on two goals and two assists apiece.
- First-year defender Jade Rose earned a spot on Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week on Sept. 7. She has scored a pair of goals this season. Rose stands second on the team in minutes played (777) this season while senior Lara Schenk has played all 853 minutes.
- Harvard has scored three or more goals in five games this year and tallied multiple goals in eight of nine contests this season. The Crimson has outscored its opponents 23-8 on the year and outshot its opponents 187-65.
- At home, the Crimson has registered a 4-0-1 record on the season and a 17-4-1 mark since 2018. Overall, Harvard stands at 20-3-2 since 2019. The Crimson are 4-0-0 on the road in 2021.
- As a team, Harvard has posted four shutouts on the season and notched a 0.84 GAA. Junior goalkeeper Hannah Gardner has posted a 6-0-0 record on the year with a 0.42 GAA and two shutouts – both in Ivy League play.
- Harvard leads the all-time series with Cornell, 27-3-9. The Crimson is 21-0-5 in its last 26 meetings with the Big Red.

At the Helm
Chris Hamblin is in his sixth season as The Branca Family Head Coach for Harvard Women's Soccer in 2021 after spending five seasons as an assistant coach for the Crimson. The 2016 Ivy League Coach of the Year, he has posted a 45-22-7 overall record and 18-7-5 Ivy League mark during his time at Harvard.
