RV/RV Football Welcomes Penn on Senior Day

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The RV/RV Harvard football team is set to host Penn on Senior Day and its final home game of the year in an Ivy League contest on Saturday, Nov. 13 at  noon. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+ and carried over the radio on Bloomberg WRCA (1330 AM/106.1 FM) in Boston.

The Crimson stands at 6-2 overall and is 3-2 in the Ivy after handling Columbia, 49-21, last week. The Quakers, meanwhile, are 3-5 and 1-4 after falling at home to Cornell, 15-12. With two games to play, Harvard is one-game behind in the Ivy League standings.

What to Know
• Saturday's game will mark the 91st all-time meeting between the Ivy rivals, with the Crimson leading the series, 49-39-2. In 2019, the Quakers emerged with a 24-20 victory at Harvard Stadium. Since 2001, the Crimson is 9-10 against the Quakers.
• Prior to Saturday's contest against Penn, Harvard will honor its senior class of 2022. With a victory Saturday, the Crimson will post its most wins in a season since the 2016 campaign.
• This week's game will be Harvard's 1,341st varsity football game. The Crimson has an all-time record of 885-405-50 (.679).
• Heading into Week 8, Harvard leads the nation in rushing defense (55.5). The Crimson is also second in sacks (4.12), third in 3rd-down conversion defense (.250), third in 4th-down conversion defense (.227) and fourth in scoring defense (13.9).
•  Since 2007, the Crimson owns a 32-12 mark (.727) in contests played during the month of November.
•  Making his first-career start, Luke Emge completed 17 passes for 227 yards and three touchdowns, while Aidan Borguet and Aaron Shampklin each rushed for two scores, becoming the first Harvard duo with two rushing TDs each since Devin Darrington and DeMarkes Stradford against Howard in 2019. Kym Wimberly caught eight passes for 109 yards, Harvard's first 100-yard receiver since Jack Cook at Princeton in 2019. Borguet (119 yards) and Wimberly (109 yards) were also the Crimson's first pair with 100 all-purpose yards since B.J. Watson and Cody Chrest against Penn in 2019. Thor Griffith paced the defense with 3.0 tackles for a loss and 1.0 sacks.

At The Helm
• In his 27th season, Harvard's all-time winningest head coach, Tim Murphy, enters this week's game with a 184-83 record with the Crimson and a 216-128-1 overall head coaching record, which includes five years at Cincinnati and two years at Maine. Since the formation of the Ivy League in 1956, no Ivy coach has compiled as many wins as Murphy's 183, and he is just one of 11 coaches to win 100-plus games. Murphy also owns 127 Ivy League wins, tied for second-most all-time. Murphy has led Harvard to nine Ivy championships (1997, 2001, 2004, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2015).
