ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Harvard first-year
Sophia Montgomery took fourth place at the ICSA Women's Singlehanded Nationals this weekend (Nov. 6-7), finishing with 51 points across 14 races.
A total of 18 sailors competed in the regatta, which was hosted on the Chesapeake Bay by the U.S. Naval Academy. Charlotte Rose, of Jacksonville University, won the event with 39 points. Rose was able to edge Boston College's Sophia Reineke by a single point for the title.
For her part, Montgomery notched four second-place results and finished outside the top-five in just two races. The native of Bangkok, Thailand was the top-finisher among the four first-years entered in the competition.
