COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Harvard women's swimming and diving team earned Scholar All-America Team honors for the 2021 spring semester, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced on Tuesday. Showing remarkable resilience in the classroom, the Crimson posted its best GPA in 12 years of recorded data to lead all Division I teams.
Concluding the spring term with a team GPA of 3.9, the Crimson bested its previous effort of 3.76 accomplished in the fall of 2020. Harvard finished at the top of the Ivy League, and in all of Division I men and women's teams, for highest spring semester GPA.
"Coaches Tyrrell and Wriede Morawski did an exceptional job despite the absence of an Ivy League season," stated CSCAA Executive Director Greg Earhart. "These are some of the best ambassadors of Harvard and Athletic Director McDermott, President Bacow and Dr. Tom Dingman can and should be proud of these 37 men and women."
To be recognized by the CSCAA, programs were required to post a GPA of 3.00 or higher during the spring semester of 2021. In total, 721 programs from 426 institutions earned the honor.
