CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard University women's soccer was selected to finish second in the 2021 Ivy League Women's Soccer Preseason Media Poll, the Ivy League conference office announced on Thursday morning.
The Crimson totaled 106 total points and four first-place votes to gain the No. 2 spot in the poll. Brown earned the poll's top spot with 113 total points and nine first-place votes. Princeton (100 total points, two first-place votes) and Yale (79, one) took third and fourth in the rankings. Columbia (58 points), Dartmouth (50), Penn (46), and Cornell (22) rounded out the poll.
Harvard brings back four student-athletes who earned All-Ivy honors in 2019, including senior
Murphy Agnew – the 2019 Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year and a First Team All-Ivy selection. Junior
Gabby DelPico gained First Team All-Ivy in 2019 while junior
Angela Caloia and senior
Sophie Hirst both took home Second Team All-Ivy.
In 2019, the Crimson posted a 12-3-1 overall record and a 5-1-1 mark in Ivy League play, finishing second in the conference standings.
Harvard opens its 2021 season with a home game against Fairfield University on Friday, Aug. 27 at 1:00 p.m. (ESPN+) at Ohiri Field.
