Men’s Tennis Announces Fall 2021 Schedule

CAMBRIDGE, Mass – The Harvard men's tennis team will return to competition this fall, with the 2021 fall schedule announced by Andrew Rueb '95, The Scott Mead '77 Head Coach For Harvard Men's Tennis. The Crimson will take part in seven tournaments over the three-month span.

"We are so excited to have the team back on campus and we are eager to compete this fall for the first time in 18 months," stated Rueb. "The fall schedule has lots of opportunities for each student to compete and improve. We can't wait to host the defending national champion Florida Gators along with Pac-12 powerhouses Arizona State and Cal-Berkeley for the fall Chowder Fest, September 24-26. If there was one weekend to stop by the Beren - it would be that one."

Kicking off its campaign on the road, Harvard will travel to Wisconsin to compete in the Milwaukee Invite, Sept. 18th-20th. After its time in the Midwest, the Crimson will return home to host Chowderfest at the Beren Tennis Center from Sept. 24-26th, matching up against defending national champion Florida, Arizona State and UC Berkley.

To start off October, Harvard will take on two tournaments simultaneously. The Crimson will share hosting duties with MIT for the MIT Invite from Oct. 8th-10th, facing competition from Boston College, Boston University and MIT. At the same time, four players will travel to Tulsa, Okla. For the All-American Tournament held Oct. 2nd-10th.

Continuing its season on the road, the Crimson will travel to Penn for Regionals from Oct. 14th-19th. Harvard will then host the Crimson Halloween Event from Oct. 29th-31st, taking on Ivy League foes Brown, Cornell, Dartmouth and Yale. Rounding out its fall slate, the Crimson will compete in both the ITA Fall Nationals from Nov. 4th-7th and the Wake Forest Invite held Nov. 5th-7th.

During the shortened 2019-2020 season, the Crimson enjoyed a stellar season, sporting an 11-1 record. Key returners for the Crimson include 2020-2021 ITA Scholar-Athlete and member of the 2021 All-Ivy Academic Team Brian Shi, as well as 2019-2020 Chowderfest champion Henry Von Der Schulenburg.

All outdoor home matches will be held at the Beren Tennis Center, while indoor home matches will be played at the Murr Center Tennis Courts and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
