Box Score CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – It took 103 minutes for the score to be settled on Tuesday night at Jordan Field. In Harvard's second double overtime in as many games, the Crimson was clipped 2-1 by Northeastern (4-1-1), dropping its overall record to 1-1-1.
Willem Ebbinge opened scoring at 14:43 when he took a feed in the box from
Cornelius Bencsik before skimming the ball past the Huskies' keeper. Harvard was able to hold the score at 1-0 through the half. Early in the second,
Alfred Perez was handed a red card, forcing the Crimson to play 10-on-11 for the remaining 54 minutes. Northeastern utilized the man advantage to tie the score in the 63rd minute.
With just 3:28 remaining in regulation,
Oskar Nilsson kept Harvard in the game by making an incredible save on a penalty shot to force overtime. Through the second half, Northeastern would record two yellows while Harvard was served one.
Less than three minutes into the second overtime frame, Northeastern's Jack Monte would score a header off a corner kick to secure the 2-1 win for the visitors.
