CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The National Football League wrapped up its 2021 regular season this past weekend, and six former Harvard football players found themselves on active rosters throughout the year.
At season's end, Harvard finished as the Ivy League leader for most alums on active NFL rosters (6).
As the NFL transitions into the playoffs, the Crimson have three former players still competing for a Super Bowl title.
Anthony Firkser '17 is playing a crucial role at tight end for the AFC South Champion and top-seeded Tennessee Titans in the AFC playoffs, helping the team earn a bye for the upcoming Wild Card weekend.
Tight end Cameron Brate '14 is playing alongside quarterback Tom Brady for the defending Super Bowl Champions, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in the NFC playoffs. Brate helped Tampa Bay capture the NFC South and earn the second seed. The Buccaneers will play host to the seventh-seeded Philadelphia Eagles this Sunday, Jan. 16, at 1 p.m. ET
Kyle Juszczyk '13 continued his successful career by earning his sixth-consecutive Pro Bowl selection. Juszczyk holds down the fullback position for San Francisco and aided the 49ers on their way to earning the No. 6 seed in the NFC. San Francisco will be traveling to Dallas to take on the third-seeded Cowboys this Sunday, Jan. 16, at 4:30 p.m. ET.
Outside of the playoffs, Tyler Ott '14 was excelling at the long-snapper role for Seattle, helping the Seahawks win four of its last six games, including their last two, to finish the season 7-10. Ott played in all 17 contests for the team this season, his fifth consecutive season playing in each game.
After suffering a hip injury in a week one matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers, quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick '05 suffered a hip injury that kept him out for the duration of the season.
Cole Toner '16, meanwhile, finished 2021 on injured reserve with the Houston Texans after making a start in their 41-29 win over the Chargers in Week 16.

Currently in his eighth career season, all with the Buccaneers … Super Bowl LV champion … Has appeared in 115 career games … In 2021, played in all 17 games, tallying 30 receptions for 245 yards and four touchdowns … In his career, he has totaled 253 receptions for 2,683 yards and 33 touchdowns.
Anthony Firkser '17, Tennessee Titans, Tight End
Playing in his fourth career season, all with the Titans … Has seen action in 50 career games … In 2021, Firkser played in 15 games, recording 34 receptions for 291 yards and two touchdowns … Throughout his career, he has amassed 106 receptions for 1,107 yards and five touchdowns.
Kyle Juszczyk '13, San Francisco 49ers, Fullback
In the midst of his ninth NFL season and fifth with San Francisco … Six-time NFL Pro Bowler ... Played in 139 career games … In 2021, Juszczyk posted 30 receptions for 296 yards and a touchdown … In his career Juszczyk has tallied 299 receptions for 2,145 yards and 13 touchdowns, while rushing the ball 50 times for 179 yards and four touchdowns.
Ryan Fitzpatrick '05, Washington Football Team, Quarterback
After his 17
th NFL season and first with Washington … Competed in 166 career games … Over his career he has totaled 34,990 yards and 223 touchdowns, while completing 60.7% of his passes … Also rushed the ball 575 times for 2,623 yards and 21 touchdowns.
Tyler Ott '14, Seattle Seahawks, Long Snapper
Finished his seventh career season and sixth with the Seahawks … Ott has played in 85 career games and all 17 of Seattle's games this season while appearing in 157 special teams snaps as the long snapper…Totaled 783 career special teams snaps over his seven years.
Cole Toner '16, Houston Texans, Offensive Tackle
In his fourth season in the NFL and first with the Texans, a team he signed with on Oct. 30, 2021 … Has played in 13 career games including three starts with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2020 and one with the Texans in 2021.
