Women’s Basketball Returns Home to Host Columbia and Dartmouth

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Returning to home court for the first time since November, the Harvard women's basketball team will welcome Columbia and Dartmouth to Lavietes Pavilion this Saturday, Jan. 15 and Monday, Jan. 17, respectively. Both contests will be broadcast on ESPN+, while Monday's matchup against the Big Green will also air on NESN.
 
Spectators will not be allowed in attendance through Jan. 23.

What to Know
- Harvard went 1-1 last weekend in conference action, picking up an 89-58 win at Brown and 73-80 setback at Yale. The Crimson moved to 7-8 overall and 1-2 in Ivy League play.
- Shooting with efficiency against Brown, Harvard went 35-for-69 from the field (.507) and made 11 three-pointers. McKenzie Forbes (17), Lola Mullaney (17), Harmoni Turner (17) and Maggie McCarthy (11) all posted double-digit points in the Crimson's victory over the Bears.
- Against Yale, Lola Mullaney set two new career highs, including points with 27 and three-pointers with seven, and tied her career high in field goals with nine. The sophomore has now posted double-digit points in 12 games this season, including six-straight and two with 20+ points.
- The Crimson currently holds a 3-0 home record within the friendly confines of Lavietes Pavilion. Dominating on its own hardwood, Harvard has surpassed 70 points in each of its home court victories this season.
- Harvard ranks 14th in the nation in three-point field goals made per game with 9.1 and places 12th with 137 total. The Crimson ranks first in the Ivy League in three-point percentage with .357. Shooting with efficiency against Merrimack on Nov. 30, Harvard registered its highest three-point percentage of the season at 60.7 percent. Harvard tallied 17 three-pointers, its highest mark of the season.
- The Crimson heads into its contests against Columbia and Dartmouth sporting a 4-2 record in its last six matchups.
- Harvard leads Columbia in its all-time series, 64-6, but suffered two losses to the Lions in 2020 and is 1-3 in its last four matchups. The Crimson holds a 51-36 advantage over Dartmouth in program history, splitting its series with the Big Green in 2020.

Leading the Way
The Friends of Harvard Women's Basketball Head Coach Kathy Delaney-Smith returns for her 40th season at the helm of the program. The winningest coach in Ivy League basketball history with 617 career victories, Delaney-Smith passed former Princeton head coach Pete Carril (514) for most wins by an Ancient Eight coach on either the men's or women's side during the 2013-14 season. Delaney-Smith owns a 617-421 overall record with a 360-159 mark in Ivy League play, including 12 20-win seasons, 11 Ivy titles and 15 postseason appearances.
