Harvard Women’s Soccer to Celebrate Senior Night; Takes on Columbia in Regular Season Finale

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's soccer will close out the 2022 regular season this Saturday when it welcomes the Columbia Lions to Jordan Field. To honor their impact and commitment to the program, the Crimson (10-1-3, 4-0-2 Ivy) will celebrate its seven seniors in a pregame ceremony. The second-place Crimson will battle the fourth-place Lions (7-4-3, 3-2-1 Ivy) to try and close out the regular season undefeated in league play.
 

WHAT TO KNOW

  • The Crimson comes into the contest with an RPI of 14 and an undefeated league record
  • Harvard owns the seventh best scoring offense in the nation after scoring 2.57 goals per game during the 2022 campaign
  • The team also ranks in the top five nationally in shots and shots on goal per game
  • Harvard has scored 38 goals this season which is already tied for the most for the program since 2013 (38) and tied for 11th most by a team in program history
  • The team's one loss is tied for the fewest in the regular season since 1999
  • Sophomore midfielder Hannah Bebar ranks seventh in the nation with .62 assists per game and No. 24 in the nation with eight total assists
  • Bebar also ranks inside the top six in the Ivy League in every offensive statistic
  • Ainsley Ahamdian's four game-winning goals is good for second in the Ivy League
  • Ahmadian's seven goals are a team-high and good for fifth in the Ivy League
  • Hannah Griffin caught fire in October, scoring four goals and notching points in four of six games in the month
  • Griffin has scored three goals in the past two games
  • Harvard has won both of its past two games in comeback fashion
  • Lara Schenk enters the game as the team leader in minutes played (1,105; 85:00 mpg)
  • Harvard leads the all-time series with Columbia with a 29-3-3 mark against the Lions
  • The Crimson is unbeaten in its past 13 contests against the Ivy League foe, dating back to 2008
  • The two sides typically play close contests, as 14 of the past 15 matchups have been decided by one goal
  • Harvard has outscored Columbia 20-8 over the past thirteen matchups and has not allowed more than one goal to the Lions since 2007
