CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 1 Harvard Men's Squash (5-0, 2-0 Ivy) proved their spot atop college squash by besting No. 5 UVA (2-2, 1-0 MASC) in the first top five matchup of the season.
Senior co-captain,
George Crowne, grabbed the fifth, and team win clinching, match win by defeating Omar El Torkey 3-1 (5-11, 11-9, 11-9, 11-0). After dropping the first game and then two tight games, Crowne secured the win with a dominating fourth game in which he did not drop a point.
The Crimson other co-captain,
Marwan Tarek captured the eighth win of the day with a thrilling 3-2 (7-11, 11-4, 5-11, 11-8, 11-4) match against Aly Hussein (UVA) that was nearly two hours in length. The back-and-forth competition showcased the best of college squash as the two were the final match in the No.1 vs. No.5 matchup.

- Harvard beat UVA in nearly perfect fashion, dropping only one match and seven games.
- Marwan Tarek remains perfect on the year after a thrilling match. Tarek is 4-0 at the No. 1 position for the Crimson.
- Neel Joshi led all Crimson players by dropping 17 points at the No. 9 position in his 3-0 (11-6, 11-6, 11-5) win over Tyler Mackesy (UVA).
- Ido Burstein, Tate Harms, Denis Gilevskiy, Ayush Menon, and Neel Joshi all swept their opponents.
- Following the victory, the Crimson remain unbeaten against UVA (4-0), having won all four of their matchups.
