Sailing Announces Spring Schedule

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard sailing's 2022 spring schedule was released on Tuesday, per head coach Michael O'Connor
 
The slate features 31 regattas spanning from March to May. The Crimson will sail in 17 team races and 14 fleet competitions, while serving as hosts for four regattas. 
 
The action starts on March 5 with three opening weekend events, including a women's only team race hosted by Harvard. In all, the Crimson will compete at nine team races during the month of March in addition to two fleet races. 
 
April marks the busiest month for the team with 16 regattas on the schedule. 
 
The lineup is highlighted by The Dellenbaugh Trophy at Brown (Women's New England Team Race Championship), April 2-3, as well as the Fowle Trophy (Co-ed New England Team Race Championship), April 9-10, at Harvard Sailing Center.  
 
Following two more competition-filled weekends, April ends with the Women's Team Racing National Championship April 23-24 and the New England Dinghy Championship April 30 – May 1. 
 
Harvard's wraps up the spring with three ICSA Championships at Tulane. The Team Race Championship will be held May 19-22, followed by the Dinghy Championships May 23-26 and finally the Women's Fleet Racing Championship May 23-26. 
 
The Crimson is coming off a fall in which it won five regattas in fleet racing and an additional two team races. Harvard placed fifth at the Schell Trophy (NEISA's fall, coed championship) and fourth at the Victorian Urn Trophy (NEISA'S fall, women's championship). In Sailing World's last college rankings of the fall, Harvard came in at No. 5 in the women's poll and No. 20 in coed.
