BEIJING, China – Harvard women's ice hockey alumna
Emerance Maschmeyer '16 won an Olympic gold medal with Team Canada as Canada defeated the United States in the gold medal game, 3-2, at the 2022 Beijing Olympics on Thursday.
Maschmeyer went 2-0 at the tournament, including a shutout in an 11-0 win over Sweden in the quarterfinals. She allowed just one goal, while becoming the seventh player in program history to win an Olympic gold medal.
Alongside her shutout against Sweden, Maschmeyer also earned the win in a 6-1 victory over the Russian Olympic Committee. As a team, Canada went 7-0 at the tournament.
A native of Bruderheim, Alberta, Maschmeyer earned four varsity letters from 2012-16. She is the program's all-time leader in saves with 2,538, a two-time Patty Kazmaier Award nominee and a Second Team All-American in 2013-14. Maschmeyer was also a three-time First Team All-Ivy honoree and the 2013-14 ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Year. At Harvard, Maschmeyer ranks fourth in program history in wins (59), third in shutouts (18), and second in both goals-against average (1.65) and save percentage (.940).

Keely Moy '22 competed for Team Switzerland, helping the Swiss reach the semifinals and bronze medal game before finishing fourth at the tournament. Moy tallied a key assist in Team Switzerland's 4-2 victory over ROC in the quarterfinals.
While with the Crimson this season, Moy has totaled six goals and seven assists across 13 games. She earned ECAC Hockey Player of the Week honors for the week ending Oct. 24. During her time in Cambridge, Moy has recorded 30 goals, six of which were game winners, as well as 27 assists. The Olympics marked her third stint with the Swiss national team overall.
