Miclau Gains NCAA Spot for Women’s Swimming and Diving on Day Three at Zones

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Sophomore Elizabeth Miclau qualified for the NCAA Championships in the platform diving event to lead Harvard University women's swimming and diving on the third day of the 2022 NCAA Zone A Diving Championships on Wednesday at the U.S. Naval Academy's Lejeune Hall.
 
A native of San Francisco, Calif., Miclau posted a combined score of 501.10 in the finals round for fourth place, earning the top-five finish needed to qualify for the NCAA Championships. After posting a 239.65 for fifth place in the prelims, she followed with a 261.45 in the finals to vault into fourth place.
 
Miclau – who won the 3-meter event at the 2022 Ivy League Championships – previously had a season-high score of 246.15 in the platform event, topping the NCAA standard of 225.
 
On day two of Zones on Tuesday, Miclau placed sixth in the 3-meter event with a score of 583.30, approaching a top-five NCAA qualifying finish.
 
Scores on all dives in the prelims and the finals were used to determine finals placing.
