CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard Men's Lightweight Rowing team is set to compete against Delaware and Navy for the Haines Cup this Saturday, April 23, on the Severn River in Annapolis, Md. This will be the first time the Cup has been up for grabs since the 2019 matchup which ended up being a 1.2-second Harvard victory on the Charles River.
The Crimson are fresh off a second-place finish in the Biglin Bowl race against Dartmouth and MIT on the Charles River. The Harvard Lightweights have posted solid times in its first two races of 2022 and looks to build on their performances leading into the Eastern Sprints Regatta next month.
Harvard will compete in solid racing conditions as temperatures are expected to mid in the low-to-mid 60's under partly cloudy skies. The wind is expected to be blowing at 10-15 mph with gusts predicted at 20 mph.
