CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard softball senior Morgan Melito has been named to the 2022 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District I Team. The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
 
Melito, who secured her second career All-District I nod after first being recognized in 2020, was one of three players from the Ivy League to be voted to the team. She now advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot, with the honorees being revealed in June.
 
Hailing from Westlake Village, Calif., Melito earlier today was named to the All-Ivy League Second Team and to the Academic All-Ivy squad. The senior captain hit .349 in 2022, while producing a .988 OPS, four home runs and 24 RBI, all of which led the Crimson.
 
Melito and her Harvard teammates will return to action on Friday when they begin the best-of-three Ivy League Playoff Series at Princeton. The teams will play a doubleheader on Friday, beginning at noon ET. If a third game is needed, first pitch will be at noon ET on Saturday. All games will air on ESPN+.
