CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard field hockey announced its 2022 schedule today (June 30), a slate that will feature nine home games.
The Crimson will play a schedule that features four teams that have won national championships in the last 11 seasons.
Harvard opens the season on Sept. 2 against reigning Mid-American Conference champion Miami (OH) at Berylson Field.
Harvard's nonconference schedule also features games against perennial Big East power UConn (Sept. 4), and 2021 national semifinalist Maryland (Sept. 9).
The Crimson will open Ivy League play on Sept. 23 at home against Columbia.
Harvard is coming off its most successful season to date, as the Crimson finished the 2021 season at 17-2 (7-0 Ivy League), winning its sixth Ivy League title, reaching the NCAA Semifinals for the first time in program history and matching a program record for wins on the year.
Harvard led the nation in nearly every defensive category, finishing tops in the nation with a .44 goals against average and 11 shutouts on the year. Harvard also beat its highest ranked opponent ever, defeating No. 2 Michigan in the NCAA Quarterfinals.
