Men’s Squash Dominates Cornell, 8-1

ITHACA, NY – No. 1 Harvard Men's Tennis (10-0, 5-0 Ivy) kicked off their final Ivy weekend of the year with a dominating win over No. 8 Cornell (5-5, 0-4 Ivy).  With the win, Harvard has claimed a share of the 2023 Ivy title, with the chance to be sole champions of the league with a win tomorrow.

Harvard Highlights

  • The Crimson saw 3-0 sweeps at four positions from George Crowne, Denis Gilevskiy, David Costales, and Ayush Menon
  • Denis Gilevskiy was dominate at the No. 5 position today, outscoring his opponent 33-10, dropping the least number of points by any Crimson player. 
  • George Crowne returned to winning ways after falling last weekend.  With a 3-0-win Crowne improves to 9-1 on the year. 
  • Marwan Tarek and Neel Joshi both captures wins today to remain as the only Crimson players to stand with undefeated records (among those with multiple matches played).
  • The Crimson improve to 5-0 in Ivy League play and with a win tomorrow will clinch the Ivy League title for the first time since the 2020 season. 
  • Following the win, the Crimson improve to 52-2 in the all-time series against Cornell.  Harvard has won the last 13 matchups between the two squads.
